Question 301 redirect is interfering with emails

    Hi all,

I'm having a problem with a 301 redirect. I recently redirected one of my client's domains to their preferred one using the following lines of code (it's a small website, 5 html pages).

    redirect 301 /index.html http://www.crispsbus.com.au
    redirect 301 /charters.html http://www.crispsbus.com.au/charters.html
    redirect 301 /school.html http://www.crispsbus.com.au/school.html
    redirect 301 /fleet.html http://www.crispsbus.com.au/fleet.html
    redirect 301 /contact.html http://www.crispsbus.com.au/contact.html

They've just alerted me that an email address that belonged to their old domain name is no longer getting emails (or they might not have even been able to access it), and a representative at their old domain's host told them it was being redirected. Why would this be? And how can I fix it? I didn't think redirects would affect email...

Sorry I can't give more specifics like how they usually access their email etc, if I need to know that though I can ask.

    Thanks heaps,
    Angus

You will have to check the emails error log from the server for the error message and also is there any bounce back email are you receiving?

you have to transfer all the mails to new location because when you redirect the domain name then there is no need of hosting thats why its giving error.
